Nastya was ten when a missile fired by Russian terrorists on New Year's Eve changed her life forever. It took her father's life and destroyed their house. The only means for Nastya's family to survive is the scrap metal they scavenge while under fire. Senya is seven years old. He is a first-grader. In the seven years of his life, he has seen seven years of war and not a day of peace. Senya likes to climb on the boney pile to watch the sunset. His stepfather dig graves to earn money for a new suit and backpack for Senya. War has become commonplace. Just a part of the landscape.

“Slovo” House. Unfinished Novel,  2021, - Fiction

1927. Soviet Ukraine. By order of Stalin, the cooperative house “Slovo” is built in Kharkiv. The most famous Ukrainian writers are moved into comfortable apartments. All of these people become participants in an experiment aimed at developing a new type of Soviet writer and total control over the creative process in order to create a single artistic method of socialist realism, but not every one agrees to glorify the cult of Stalin. Unexpectedly for the residents of the “Slovo” house, an unknown young writer, Volodymyr Akimov, moves in. Who is he? No one knows. After his arrival, strange incidents in the “Slovo” house start happening, and nobody knows about them until now. The story is based on real events.

Despite being built with Stalin's approval, it quickly became a prison as the brutal Soviet regime spied on the inhabitants and destroyed their eccentric way of life. This fascinating film explores the extraordinary story of the building and its residents.

The Shooting Gallery, 2001, - Fiction

A black-and-white, gloomy, 10-minute film about a homeless Kyiv boy who wanders around the big city in search of entertainment and money. One day, he goes to an old shooting gallery with a placard that says “Win a million”. The boy shoots accurately, but the adult world is full of more lies and exaggerations than he might have thought.
