Victoria Kurochka

Victoria is a journalist and communications specialist. Originally from Poltava, she has a multicultural background: her family roots trace back to Ukrainians, Azerbaijanis, and Azov Greeks. That’s why exploring her heritage and Ukraine’s multicultural identity has always been central to her interests.

She holds degrees in Philology and a Master’s in Journalism. Professionally, she has worked as both a reporter and a PR manager. Victoria co-created the concept for the documentary “Russification in Pop Style” (Suspilne), and worked as a journalist on the film Homo Amans, which received the Grand Prix at this year’s Cinema for Victory film awards.

She has collaborated with TV channel «Ukraina», Suspilne Broadcasting, and Radio Svoboda, and served as editor for the Ukrainian broadcast of the Academy Awards (Oscars). With over 10 years of experience in music, culture, and show business journalism, Victoria brings a deep understanding of media and storytelling.

She has considerable experience in the field of communications, particularly with music and cultural projects.

Our communications manager describes herself simply: obsessed with cinema, in love with Kyiv, and a proud fan of Ukraine and its cultural uniqueness. This year, she joined the team of the OKO Ethnographic Film Festival.
